Plot:	When Hornblower, a wealthy tradesman, stakes his claim to a piece of valuable forest property, the local squire and his wife learn a secret about Hornblower's wife and they blackmail him and force him to stop his business.
Overview:	The British countryside turns into an ideological battlefield when Hornblower (Edmund Gwenn), a wealthy, self-made tradesman, stakes his claim to a piece of valuable forest property controlled for literally centuries by the "landed gentry." The local squire (C.V. France) and his wife (Helen Haye) learn a secret about Hornblower's wife and they blackmail him and force him to stop his business.
