This film is a 5-star effort.

Jackie Chan has a pretty broad spectrum to his work. Some films are all about the big stunts, some are about the action sequences, some are funny. This film is all about the fight sequences.

Hands down this is Jackie's best kung fu choreography. It was done by Ming-Sing Wong (aka Sam Wong), who also choreographed Jackie's other fighting masterpiece "Who Am I?". While WAI does boast some impressive fights with some huge stunts, DM2 is pure fighting. The Drunken Boxing style really allows Jackie to show his skill and creativity inside of the kung fu arena. This film really lets you see just how good Jackie is. Here, he shows he can hold his own against his contemporaries like Jet and Donnie (back in the day that is, at least).

The story is a little silly: things get set in motion because of some missing ginseng getting mixed up with a royal seal and some British imperialists. Same kind of thing as "Once Upon a Time in China" (since Jackie and Jet are playing the same character of Wong Fei Hong, it's not surprising). Only here, it's a bit more comedic than the Tsui Hark fare. But it doesn't matter. The interplay between Jackie and the late, great Anita Mui as his mother is priceless. The comedic element to this film really does add some depth, so you're not just sitting by watching the clock until someone starts punching someone else in the face.

You really could spend a semester studying why this movie is simply one of the greatest action films of all time. Even those who don't want to read subtitles and prefer their action with lots of explosions and CG will love this. Look, if you haven't seen it, stop reading and just click the button to add this to your shopping cart, select the fastest shipping you can afford, and just sit back and watch in amazement.

[The uncut version is] the only cut that any "Drunken Master 2" fan should own. The movie is crazy with exciting fight scenes, and the moves of Jackie Chan always impress me. I love this film not because of the fighting and funny moments, but because it has a simple story for any man or woman to follow. The movie is packed with thrilling moments and it still amazes me to this day.

YI agree with the rating and the sentiments about the action. But the story is just generic, HK, Kung Fu fare. Simple, yes. But not the reason at all to watch this film.Garvinstomp
NSelf contradictory review that makes little sense. It is a five star movie but again this review is quite poor. If you don't love the movie for its fighting or funny moments then you are pretty much missing the point of the film.Bastard Ronin

The movie is off-the-wall, high-kickin' fun. This has to be Jackie Chan's greatest film. The fights are simply amazing. Either cut of the movie you'll still have a blast.

Made in 1994 when kung fu movies became cool again, many people doubted that Jackie Chan could still pull off a traditional kung fu movie. What did they know? This is Chan at his best! Standout fights include the teahouse, using split bamboo, and the outstanding final fight with Ken Lo. Chan really does punish himself to entertain us and in doing so gives us a truly brilliant film with some of the best action sequences ever captured on film.

Do not order the [edited US version]. [The uncut version] is the only copy of "Drunken Master 2" you should own. GREAT Jackie Chan. Highly recommended.

Absolutely one of the greatest kung-fu movies ever. Period.

Jackie Chan's comedic style is in top form and his kung-fu has never ever looked as good, thanks to direction/choreography from Shaw Bros. legend Liu Chia-Liang (who also has a sweet cameo).

This is an absolute must-own--great plot, acting, characters, action.

One of the better fight scenes in Jackie's lexicon of movies, however hard to believe that Jackie is supposed to be Ti Lung's son, and that he is supposed to be a teen.

Still, one has to get over this to enjoy the movie.

Doesn't get any better than this. The ultimate in kung-fu comedy and possibly Jackie Chan's best film as well as one of the best all around films ever made.

It could be the only movie to watch if you can't choose only one! Everything in this film "breathes" Kung Fu comedy at its best. Picture is beautiful, the typical Chinese National treasures story fits perfectly to give those incredibles fights where Jackie Chan perfoms better than ever! His flexible body and great techniques can handle any enemy and the work on choreography is just perfect, movments/music are a real fight-ballet.

One of those films you can watch over and over again, you'll never be disappointed but ask for more!

Jackie Chan gets drunk and fights for his life!

Having watched what was supposed to be the be-all end-all of JC flicks, I'd have to say it was okay-ish at best. I found his drunken antics a little bit too over-the-top.

Overall, a decent watch.

A sequel better than the original. If you want to see fights and a modern display of the drunken boxing technique, this is for you. It is amazing that this movie has not been digitally remastered in an uncut version. Jackie shows superior skills in this movie. The fight scene with Chan and Lau Kar Leung is up there in terms of classics. Ti Lung got to show some moves as well as the beautiful Anita Mui and the lethal kicking Ken Lo.

It should be noted that the fight concept at the end of the movie was initially portrayed and used in one of Jackie's early classic (in my opinion) "The Young Master." This movie is a keeper and should fit well in any serious Kung Fu collection.

I'm always critical when Jackie puts comedy in his movies, but the comedy in this one is really funny and the fight scenes are amazing. This is an all time classic! Highly Recommended.

Not as great as I was hoping. Absolutely love the original, however this movie was a bit of a disappointment. The story was a bit flimsy and does not showcase Jackie Chan as the superstar he is. Just watch the first movie and be happy with that.
