For a made-for-television production, the picture is really good with strong colors. The limitations of the Beta/digital cameras used are only noticeable when you slow the disc speed or pause it during action scenes. Like many Chinese TV series, it's not shot with sync sound. However, the original Mandarin-dubbed audio comes in two high-quality formats that sound great. The English-dubbed track sounds less vibrant and the voice acting is typically poor. Removable English subtitles are easy to read well written.
