In the waning days of gialli, filmmakers had to compete with a slew of exploitation choices like nuns and nazis (first, last, and only time those two words will stand shoulder to shoulder I bet); so they had two choices: go the surreal nightmare route like Dario Argento, or go for seconds on the sleaze like in this film. It appears a lot of like a cheaper version of "Strip Nude For Your Killer" (yes, it is possible), where all the women you see in the movie eventually get naked and get killed--in this case by a wooden dildo (ouch all the way around). Make no mistake about it, this is the height of sleazy gialli filmmaking, but who says you can't revel in the sleaze just a little bit? This is only for exploitation fans--the average moviegoer whose film experience never strays from the local multiplex will be horrified, repelled, and disgusted by almost every second of this film (probably why I like it so much); but exploitation fans will find little to quibble over in this extra sleazy slice of the gialli pie.
