Plot:A young French girl lives with her family in Vietnam in 1929. When she falls for a wealthy Chinese businessman, it soon becomes clear that society doesn't approve.
Overview:In the 1920s, a young French girl meets an important Chinese diplomat on the boat down the Mekong river. He is immediately attracted to her, and she in turn does not hesitate long before offering the seducer her innocence. She tells him she wants nothing that his money can buy; but upon returning to France, she realizes that she has deliberately refused to face the truth...
