Apparently the DVD menu design is for Hard Boiled. However, the film is correct. Such errors are not uncommon on Taiwanese DVDs and only add to their collector's value. Although this DVD is anamorphic, the print is not remastered. If you care about the best possible A/V quality, get a different version. If you're a purist, want to see the only available uncut version of this film on NTSC DVD, and won't whine about a slightly grainy, dark print, than this is the DVD for you.

The extra 17 minutes of the uncut edition make an extraordinary experience out of an already superior film. Perhaps 4.75 stars is as much as the cut version deserves, but 5.00 is rather conservative for this wonderful movie. The flow and emotional impact are much improved.
