Professor Chen-Ning Yang: The First Chinese Nobel Laureate in Physics
In 1957, Professors Chen-Ning Yang and Tsung-Dao Lee were awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for their penetrating investigation of the so-called "parity laws". They are the first Chinese Nobel Laureates. "Parity non-conservation" means that the real world and the world in the mirror image are not in symmetry. Their discovery impacted upon the development of theoretical particle physics and is one of the great milestones in the scholarship of physics.
Dr. David Ho: Innovates "Cocktails Therapy" to Combat AIDS
Dr. David Ho is an internationally acclaimed AIDS researcher who has been devoted to the study of finding the cure to the deadly disease for over 20 years. He champions the use of "cocktails therapy" that inhibits the virus effectively during primary infection and reduces AIDS mortality rate. He was chosen by Time Magazine as "Man of the Year" in 1996 for his pioneering work.
