Good mid-60s murder mystery that follows the Hitchcock mold of "never trust the police". You do have to suspend your disbelief here a bit because the 9th or 10th time the happy couple get accosted by a sleazy blackmailer you'd think they'd much rather be under the thumb of the cops rather than these dicey types. But it would make a less than interesting movie if they went to the police and let them handle their troubles wouldn't it?
It's probably a little too dated for most moviegoers, but I can't pass up a movie with a really great jazz soundtrack, and all the great jazz soundtracks were from the 60s. |
