We were very let-down in the technical quality of this release. First of all, the DVD is non-anamorphic, which is a very odd and unfortunate choice for a brand-new DVD release of a recent film from a fairly large company. As for the rest of our complaints, it's unclear whether the DVD or the film (or both) are at fault. The most irritating thing was that the "short film" segments were horribly under-lit, making it difficult to see clearly what was going on. And it looks like somewhere along the line someone tried to artificially "lighten" these scenes up. The result, unfortunately, is a weird, grey, cloudy mess. It's actually uncomfortable to watch. The other issue we had, when listening to the DTS track, was that either it was poorly compressed, or the original recording was very poorly done. Many the sound effects and some of the dialog in the "short film" segments have an odd flanged effect and sound horrible. Luckily, the "documentary" segments are perfectly acceptable in quality. But we strongly wish they'd made available a documentary-only version of the film.
