A very interesting concept about the origin of cloud dragons in Asian mythos. This film is the work of cinematographer Peter Pau of CTHD and Bride with White Hair fame. This means, of course, there are some absolutely stunning scenes but, unfortunately, a few so-so shots---mainly the desert takes. This doesn't distract from a story that keeps you guessing right up to the end as to the purpose/origin of the central object everyone is seeking. The plot, script and action are fairly consistent and flow well. Overall an entertaining adventure with a mixture of light heartedness and drama. Oh, yes, there IS Joey Wong---looking cute as usual. As a bonus Joey kicks a few butts! Recommended for those interested in Pau's work. |
