A NOTE FROM THE MANUFACTURER ABOUT THIS DVD RELEASE:

The previous DVD was made from a print struck in 2000. Since then, First Films unfortunately continued to strike numerous prints (for delivery to other countries) from the same restored negative without making a safety backup neg.

So when we received the new print used to make the Anniversary Edition, it was clear that the original negative had deteriorated dramatically since 2000. There were new scratches and cracks on the negative that weren't there before and the color had drastically shifted.

We felt that remastering from the new print at 16x9 anamorphic was still preferable than doing a 16x9 conversion off the previous transfer, but I guess we were wrong.

In any case, we invested a lot of money into the new release and looks like we'll probably take a loss on it.

Now fully restored in its original language and presented for the first time in anamorphic video, "Master of the Flying Guillotine" is prepared to fly higher than ever before.
