Picture: An anamorphic print that is clear, sharp and rarely anything, but first-rate. Flesh-tones are realistic as is the general contrast in the various environments used.

Sound: DTS/5.1 Cantonese or 5.1 Mandarin soundtracks with English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese subtitles (removable). The two Cantonese tracks are impressive with the Dts one being the more resonant. Sound is well split between the surround speakers while ambient effects help give the film a fuller sound.

Trailers: Disc 1 (the film disc) starts with a long trailer for the 'Infernal Affairs' box-set. Disc 2 (extras disc) has a trailer for the film itself.

Extras: A good set of extras for those fluent in Cantonese. Firstly, this 2 disc set comes with a free 'Yesterday Once More' calendar. Then there's 'The Story' (a rather pointless re-hash of the blurb), 'Making Of' short lasting about 10 minutes (annoyingly unsubtitled), 'Behind The Scenes' short (again, not subtitled), 'Interview' with the cast (guess what - no subtitles), 'Cast And Credits' (with filmographies/biographies on Johnnie To, Andy Lau and Sammi Cheng) and finally a 'Photo Gallery'. Would have been much better if english subtitles were present, but that calendar is rather nice!
