This film isn't as good as parts 1 and 2, but it's still worth watching. There are more flashbacks in this movie and not as much kung fu action.-Warrior Cleric (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
Great movie. This movie was the best of the series so far. I have not seen part 4 yet, but I thought this movie had everything the first 2 lacked. In part 3 all of the actors from "The 5 Deadly Venoms" were there. All of the fight scenes were outstanding. Overall this was great movie. This is a must-see.-AC48634 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!

| I have to be honest, this is not a great film, it is actually pretty boring until about an hour into the film when we get to Ti Lung...if you are not a Ti Lung fanatic like me, the film is boring until we get to the final fight which in my opinion is worth the price of the film.
Basically we follow the Archer and his big mouthed wife (Fu Sheng and Nu Nu) as they steal Lo Meng's kung fu manual...Nu Nu really suffers for this. Then we follow the two to Ching Li's house and of course she herself has a lot of drama going on. She sends them to Ti Lung who now a monk, has some sort of kung fu that if he uses a certain part of it he can heal the injured, but he himself will become vulnerable to attack...which is what Ching Li wants.
Once we get to Ti Lung we learn the back story between himself, Ching Li and Kuo Chui. Now I'm not sure if she was Ti Lung's wife or just a live in girlfriend, but basically 20 years early Ching Li layed eyes on a very young, very muscular Kuo Chui and went for it. Yup they had an affair which just didn't seem right because the Kuo Chui character had some serious mental issues...but that is pretty much played down so...anyway. When Ti Lung finds out about the affair he wants Ching Li and Kuo Chui to get married, Ching Li likes the idea, Kuo Chui says he would rather be executed. Once given the opportunity Kuo Chui can't get out of there fast enough. Ching Li ends up pregnant, she had the baby, Lo Meng thinks that the baby belongs to Ti Lung so he goes and Iron Palms it (hey, Venom's have no shame!) thinking Ti Lung will save it and leave himself vulnerable to Lo Meng's attack. Ti Lung wants to save the baby, but hey, it isn't his kid. Ching Li end's up killing the baby so that it doesn't suffer and instead of blaming her cheating slutty self or the man who ran out on her she blames Ti Lung. The man she cheated on yet he still let her stay at his palace even after he found out she had a baby.
All of this comes to a head when Ching Li tries to attack Ti Lung, get's turned back by those protecting him. On her way out she runs into Lo Meng, Fu Sheng jumps in to help and the 'brawl for it all' is on. This is one of my favorite Venom's brawl, which is why the film got 4 stars from me. Lots of weapons, lots of energy, lots of air and some of these boys got some good hang time. |

Oh yeah! Another classic! Fu Sheng is the best in all his Shaw films. Cool fight scenes with all the Venoms! Without the Venoms this film is nothing. Excellent ending to a great trilogy. A true master classic.-BA38898 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!

This is a good movie and of epic proportions. The story can be kind of intense and difficult to follow. The Kung-Fu is great and even unusual. In the some of the parts, the characters seem to change around and they also include actors with multiple parts. However, the total effort was quite good. I'm glad that I was able to obtain them!-DD35163 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!| AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | yes i think the film worth 4 stars i really enjoyed the film even though the plot is a bit simple. | kung fu kid |
Why are these "Brave Archer" flicks a long running series?! Another boring sequel.-Johnnie Freeze (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
This is a must-have if you have seen "Brave Archer" parts 1 and 2. A is a continuation of the story of epic proportions. I originally saw "The Brave Archer" in my youth in the form of the dubbed incarnation "Kung Fu Warlords" and loved the movie and never knew there was more. If you loved the story in part one , it's a must to own parts 2, 3, and 4 to see how it all ends. Great movie!!!!-DJ4648 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
The action was pretty good.-OW2936 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
Another great movie, performance and role by the late great Alexander Fu Sheng, surrounded by a great all-star supporting cast. Being the third in the series, it may well be the best. An action movie with a most excellent story.-GR36629 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!

Very good sequel in the long running series.-Rockdigital (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
To be honest, the only significant action is at the very end just like "Lady is the Boss", and just like that film, the last battle in "Brave Archer 3" certainly is worth seeing. Though many of the Venoms are shown throughout the film, they are not all fighting in the last battle. However, it is a very good scene with great choreography typical of what you'd expect from Chang Cheh. The rest of the film is somewhat interesting but has a lot of talk. If you got "Lady is the Boss" just for the last battle and was satisfied, then "Brave Archer 3" shouldn't disappoint for the same reason.-MVR1950 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
Much better than the first two! The story is a lot better and it's not as confusing! The film lacked in action, but it's all worth it cuz the action is splendid!-slave (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!

Alexander Fu Sheng in one of his best movies ever with further proof that you don't really require a tough martial arts background to pull off intense and demanding physical skills (please take note Jackie Chan). This is the third in the series of the Brave Archer films and arguably the best featuring Lo Meng as head of the iron palm clan and Ti Lung as a converted Buddhist monk, and how does this all tie in together? Well just watch the film, you won't be disappointed.-CA19539 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
The Venom Mob at their worst. Story dragged on, the plot was weak, and the fighting sequences made no sense at all.-FW25012 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
The only thing about this movie I liked was when it was over. Not what i expected in a Shaw/Venom movie. It was more storytelling instead of action and excitement.-JM7948 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!

| "Brave Archer Three" will challenge your expextations, but in the best possible ways. The Archer and his wife must infiltrate the territory of the Iron Palm clan to retrieve a hidden book. The wife gets injured, and she and the archer seek the healing techniques of a rival clan.
This movie wastes no time getting right to the story. I haven't yet seen part two, but I wonder about the continuity regarding the end of part two and the beginning of part three.
Before getting treatment, the archer (Fu Sheng) and mate must run the gauntlet of guardians who protect the path to the lair of their master. Some guardians have to be overcome with cunning, intelligence, and a degree of fighting skill. It is refreshing to see these types of story complications employed, and the guardians in turn become impressed with the resourcefulness and determination of the archer.
But by the time they reach the centre of the lair, they become ensnared in the story of the clan master (Ti Lung) and the skeletons in his closet.
Pay close attention, because the story has well-exexuted plot, characters, and motivations. The finale comes together very neatly and satisfyingly.
Did I mention that the guardians are all Venoms? Did I mention that the leader of the Iron Palm Clan is Lo Meng, 'The Toad' from Five Deadly Venoms? Did I mention that the final fight is a complete Venom-style throwdown with weapons, fists, and weak points? Buy this film now! |

This movie is the third installment of the Brave Archer series, and in my opinion is the best of the series. This movie to me is very special because of the fact that this is the last time all of the Venoms will be on the screen together. The movie flows a lot better than the previous two and also the fourth installment, but the finale to this film is incredible.
The fighting choreography of Chiang Sheng, Kuo Choi and Lu Feng is at a point in their career where the team is in complete unison. The other two movies made by the venoms in '81 were "Masked Avengers" and "Sword Stained With Royal Blood", and this movie is more of a Venoms film rather than a Fu Sheng vehicle due to the finale.
Cheng Tien Chee really works well with the team and it's a shame he wasn't with the group in more films. -AL8760 (see my profile) LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW!
