Because Tom & Jerry rarely spoke, music was an important factor in these classic cartoons. Musical director Scott Bradley wrote an original score for each cartoon, relying on many great tunes in the MGM musical library. Common Tom & Jerry themes were "Sing Before Breakfast", introduced by Buddy Ebsen in "Broadway Melody" of 1936, and "All God's Chillun Got Rhythm", introduced in the MGM Marx Brothers feature "A Day At The Races". But listen for the familiar "The Trolley Song" from "Meet Me In St. Louis", as well as "We're Off To See The Wizard" and "Over The Rainbow" from "The Wizard Of Oz".
