Plot:	The story of Ah-Ming, an eight year old child with a gift for painting, living in a small rural village. Overview:	Ah-Ming is an eight year old child, living in a small rural village, with a tremendous gift for painting. He has never had many opportunities to pursue painting since his family is too poor to afford it. But his talent is finally allowed to blossom when his new teacher, Kuo, supports his creativity in class. When the school learns of an upcoming painting competition, Kuo nominates Ah-Ming. But all the other teachers nominate the untalented son of the local mayor in an effort to gain favor. To protest this unfairness, Kuo leaves the school.
