Black Samurai was directed by Al Adamson, one of the true "cult classic" directors of the 1970s. From 1969 to 1978, he directed at least 18 films, mostly in the B Horror genre; he is best known for horror classics like "Dracula vs. Frankenstein" and "I Spit On Your Corpse". Black Samurai was in some ways a departure for Adamson.
