 | | | | It begins again, the sequel to "Police Story". This time around the villains from the first movie return and threaten Jackie's girlfriend, Maggie Cheung. As if this was not enough, Jackie must also contend with some mad bombers trying to extort money from a rich corporation.
The tone is much darker, but the comedy and death-defying stunts are just about as good as the original, and in some respects better. The sequel tries to focus more on Jackie's relationship with his girlfriend, thus slowing down the pacing of the film. With this said, some viewers may find the movie slow at times, but this is also a drama and not just an action movie.
Look for a great performance from Benny Lai as a deaf mute kicking machine that gives Jackie a run for his money!
Highly recommended for Chan fans, and those that like drama/romance as well as action. | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | Yes, an amazing sequel | AH1706 | | Y | This is pretty much at the same level as the extraordinary first film. | Jeffrey Frawley |

 | | | | "Police Story 2" takes off exactly at the point that the first one left off. After the first exciting adventure of Jackie, he finds himself in need of a vacation. He goes to leave with his girlfriend when he is tracked down by his mangers and brought in on a case of a bomb-planting terrorist, where he is joined by a team of professional trackers to bring these terrorists to justice. Is Jackie the man for this case? Or will they tack everything he loves? This is another action-packed film by Chan and a perfect sequel to such a wonderful film. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | I didnt enjoy it as much as I did the first film. I felt the film was just too long and full of scenes that weren't necessary. The action is still crazy, since it is a Jackie Chan film, and it's still very entertaining. It's not as great as the original but definitely entertaining. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Doesn't recycle the first movie like I expected. The old bad guys are back for a really good fight sequence and the finale is really good and shows off some other actor's talents--man that little guy can kick. Second best in the series after number one. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | This movie is somewhat ignored, even though it is just as good as the first and third. Jackie returns with Maggie Cheung and Uncle Bill. The martial arts are some of Jackie's best. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Definitely not one of my favorite Jackie Chan movies. A little old for my taste (I like the early-, mid-90s stuff), and not the greatest action. | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | I agree. Other than the fantastic fight in the playground, there wasn't a whole lot of action. This one pales in comparison to the first Police Story. | William Giordanella |

 | | | | Pretty good. Has its flaws, but what film doesn't? Not Jackie's best, but pretty good. It has some good and fun fight scenes, though I found the final fight sort of lacking, it seemed more about stunts than fighting. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
