 | | | | Most of Chu Yuan's wuxen pein films are very good, filled with mystique, excellent characterization, creative weapons and fights that go along with it. This film is good, but there is asininity lurking about. I was laughing hysterically when I saw the Gene Simmons impersonator appear. That had me rolling with laughter. Other than that this film will please those who would like this kind of stuff. | | AGREE? | READER COMMENTS | AUTHOR | | Y | Everything you said rings true, mystique, creative weapons and cool fights make this a cool flick. And that dude was a spot on Gene Simmons! | William Giordanella |

 | | | | Exciting kung-fu mystery movie chock full of interesting characters, interesting fights, and interesting set pieces. I've said it before, but it is these kinds of twisted kung-fu movies that really make Shaw Brothers the ultimate kung-fu movie studio. Any fool can make a basic kung-fu movie--look at Jean-Claude Van Damme or Steven Seagal--but Shaw Brothers decided to do it much more lavish and colourful in addition to the top rate swordplay. For fans of "Human Lanterns" or "Finger of Doom". | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Kind of strange, but overall good fights and a good story to match. The scene on the bamboo island with the traps was pretty great as well. Another classic Shaw Brothers film. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Mostly anything Chu Yuan does is good. What I like about films like this is that the fights are plentiful and lack repetitiveness. "Bat Without Wings" is a great wuxia pien thriller with a great story and great sword fights. The best is the Gene Simmons look-alike! | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
