| The UK HKL DVD of "Heart of (the) Dragon," there are 3 deleted fight sequences, all shown in their entirety and with context (except for the part in "Methadone Mayhem" where the hospital staff is locked and tied up. The deleted sequences called "Pickaxe Killer" shows Jackie killing a fat construction worker with a pickaxe, a scene that the R1 and R3 DVDs don't show you. The R1 and R3 DVDs only show you the hospital and restaurant fight scenes, without context and loud music almost drowning all the sound effects. These deleted sequences were part of the Japanese cut of the film which demanded more action.
However, in terms of film quality, the R1 and R3 discs give you much better sound and picture (just about perfect). Several sound effects appear to be missing from the R2 disc. |
