| I do not recommend this movie to anyone for any reason.
"Fearless Hyena 2" was made to cash in on Jackie Chan's success; and if he could have prevented it from being made at the time, I'm sure he would have. Jackie began his career working for a filmmaker named Lo Wei. Lo had no idea how to utilize Jackie, and the only successful movies he made early in his career were when he was "on loan" to other producers. This is how he was able to work with Yuen Wo Ping and make movies like "Drunken Master" and "Snake In Eagle's Shadow". The original "Fearless Hyena" was probably the best movie he made with Lo Wei, but he did almost all the work himself, and "Drunken Master" and "Snake In Eagle's Shadow" are still somewhat better movies. When his "indentured servitude" to Lo Wei ended, the unscrupulous producer cannibalized footage from the first "Fearless Hyena" and used a double to cobble together "Fearless Hyena 2". I would recommend the first film to real Jackie Chan fans, but to purchase this movie is to line the pockets of people who are trying to profit from Jackie's success. |
