| King, Jack, and Queen form the Bad Boy Squad, an investigative team who searches for the first loves of their clients and form a reunion between their clients and their first loves. One day, they get an assignment from Tin Ai, a young architect who has been looking for his girl Shadow for over a year. At the same time, they are asked by a Taiwanese tycoon to search for an athlete named Kwan Chin, who chose honor over love 20 years ago. Meanwhile, a human clone named Eleven has escaped from the clutches of Japanese scientist Sakamoto. The Bad Boy Squad do their best and learn that all three look exactly the same as they uncover a human clone experiment.
An action/comedy starring two of Hong Kong's hottest stars (I mean popular, not looks!!!), Ekin Chen ang Louis Koo. Ekin is so funny in this one. His character always woos girls using the tarot cards as well as fight like Bruce Lee. Koo, as Jack, is more serious as he tries throughout the film to leanr what love really is despite doing his job. Shu Qi, in many differnet roles, is sexy as Eleven, plain as Kwan Chin, and mysterious as Shadow as you will see something interesting in Shadow. Kristy Yeung gives a Gen-X Cops feel as Ekin's sister Queen in the film. Mark Cheng looks like 70's star Casanova Wong with his long blond hair in the film. You will say to yourself, "Is that Casanova Wong?" Answer: No, it's Mark Cheng. It's a great film and you gotta see it for laughs and some cool action and special effects. |

| A cross between a sci-fi thriller and action hero flick, coupled with doses of irreverent HK style humour and romantic leanings, this film is centered around the exploits of the "Bad Boys Detective Agency" namely King ( Ekin Cheng ), Queen ( Kristy Yang ) and Jack ( Louis Koo ) - a crack team of investigators.
Ekin does the romantic heartthrob bit as an amorous tarot card wielding and wired swinging cad with an endless bevy of beauties, who gets embroiled in a diabolical Japanese cloning conspiracy headed by Mark Cheng - perhaps HK's hunkiest actor - doing his yakuza scientist turn.
In what is a clichéd plot twist - clearly aimed at Shu Qi fans, he falls for her in the guise of 11 (1 better than 10, presumably) but finds that she is bereft of a memory and is kinda' addicted to French kissing and such throaty salivial pursuits. As it turns out she is a clone of a former Asian athlete (guess what again played by Shu Qi) and a Macanese hairdresser (Shu Qi in triplicate) who disappears mysteriously from journalist boyfriend Daniel Chan . Louis Koo is broodingly cool as a sharpshooting buddy, although both male leads overdo the sharp suited dandies without shirts bit (think Miami Vice on acid). Kristy Yang makes a deviation from her usual goody two shoes portrayal as a lollipop sucking, frizzy haired seductress with a crush on real life boyfriend Louis. But this is meant as a Shu Qi vehicle with her in pouty mode, a teasing bob wig, skintight red vinyl doing the kissy thing and sheathed in a satin nightie in flight from baddies. For some perhaps, the presence of these HK starlets with the shrillest of voices may be a bit much. Peppered throughout are cameos by Gigi Lai , Blacky Ko , Vincent Kuk Tak Chiu , etc.
The action sequences are dancelike and clichéd, although there are standouts such as a dreamlike chase and shootout sequence with bike riding assassins in iron masks. |
