ALTERNATE SYNOPSIS:
Freddy lives with his mother in bailleul, in the North of France, where is little to say and even less to do.
He is nuts about Marie, his girlfriend, a pretty supermarket cashier. Freddy and his four pals zip through town on their scooters and spend most of their time vegetating.
They're barely twenty, rural, relatively uneducated and unemployed . Their story becomes a tragedy as soon as Kader, an Arab teenager, has eyes for Marie.

Set in a small, sleepy village in Northern France, Life of Jesus follows the brutal and terrifying downward trajectory of a group of malevolent layabouts, led by 20 year-old Freddy. Freddy is either speeding aimlessly through the countryside on his motorbike or making passionate love to his girlfriend, Marie. He is so violently possessive of Marie, that when a local Arab teenager pursues her, Freddy and his friends take out their latent racist anger in an astonishing way that dramatically alters their lives. An unflinching slice of life that is truly riveting.
