A fair anime. I somehow thought it was live, but is pure animation. The story is trite and characters shallow, but some good drawing.

Awesome combination of CGI and animation! The only problem I had was that the story was hard to pick up...kinda like "Akira".

Reminiscent of Final Fantasy (spirits within) the techincal achievement of getting beautiful groundbreaking visuals on your screen, out weighs the need for a decent storyline. Full of references about gaia, the corruption of technology and power, and its destruction of the eco-system it gets bogged down in its own convoluted fluff of a plot. Amazing animation wins out in the end, as in places the combination of CGI, minitures and cel shaded characters are stunning. a must see for any anime fan, Wonderful Days is interspersed with a couple of decent action scenes that are intense. I gave this a four rating, 5 for the animation -1 for the substandard anime fluff of a story.

In the film, the Earth has deteriorated in a murky hell due to environmental disater by the year 2142. An elite race of humans has built a floating fortified city called Ecoban that converts the surrounding pollution into energy. Meanwhile, Hordes of downtrodden survivors subsist outside the city in sprawling hovels under perpetually dark and cloudy skies. Threaten by falling pollution, the Ecoban leadership hatches the dastardly plan of wrecking the world beyond the city to secure energy in Ecoban. The story expounds on the love triangle of three charecters, Ecoban security officer Jay, resistance fighter Shua and Ecoban's security cheif Simon. The storyline is really interesting and touching. The greatest Korean anime!!!

A bleak, yet hopeful, look at the future, in the same vein as "Blade Runner", "Road Warrior", or 'Fifth Element', bathed in beautiful animation... some of the best CG + cel animation yet. From Korea... not Japan.

if you've seen "Metropolis", you'll get it. One culture lives above and another lives below. The struggle of these cultures drives the story. Several scenes are influenced by Fritz Lang's "Metropolis", the musical score is great, every frame of this movie is worth pausing and staring at.

I read on the 'Net that Disney animators were shown this film to inspire them. You may be inspired, too.
