As Max verges on a solution, chaos is swallowing the world around him. He is pursued by an aggressive Wall Street firm set on financial domination as well as a Kabala sect intent on unlocking the secrets behind their ancient holy texts... Darren Aronofsky's startlingly original debut recalls the inspirational fervor of David Lynch's Eraserhead, as it constructs a paranoid vision from b/w cinematography, a pounding score and flashes of hallucinatory weirdness. The film since then has been hailed as a cult masterpiece and has shot Aronofsky to the status of a major Hollywood filmmaker.
