Plot:	In occupied WWII France, Marion Steiner manages the Theatre Montmarte, as her Jewish husband hides out in the basement. The only hope to save the troupe is a new play starring the dynamic and renowned actor, Bernard Granger, to whom Marion is attracted.
Overview:	Set in occupied France during World War II, The Last Metro tells the story of Marion Steiner (Catherine Deneuve), who manages the Theatre Montmarte in the stead of her Jewish husband, director Lucas Steiner (Heinz Bennent). He has reportedly fled France but is really hiding out in the basement of the theater. The only hope to save the troupe is a new play starring the dynamic and renowned actor, Bernard Granger (Gerard Depardieu), to whom Marion is attracted. As usual, Truffaut manages to create tension and drama from such dilemma and conflicting emotions.
