It is slow moving, but still kind of interesting for the first part. Seems like a pretty conventional old-school Hong Kong horror film. Then suddenly near the end there is a 20-minute sequence of a naked girl covered in ideograms writhing around. This is one of my favorite movies. I have subjected all my friends to watching it, I like it that much. A Shaw Brothers take on the French thriller "Les Diabolique". Of course, coming from the people who brought you such gems as "Boxer's Omen", this means there will be gore and ooze around every corner. It starts off a little slow, but then it picks up grabs you by the neck and doesn't let go until the end of the movie. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

I truly love Kobayashi's films - especially "Kwaidan". Many have "borrowed" or ripped off an incredible scene of his from the "Hoichi the Earless" segment...this one does, too - but, like Jimi Hendrix taking a blues riff and then tossing it into a black hole, get ready for a wild ride with this one!
