I really liked this movie. There were parts of the movie at the beginning where the pace was pretty slow, but I thought that it was an interesting character study. The cinematography was amazing.
It was interesting to see Shi go from someone who ignored the rules of the monastery to someone who finally understood what it was all about.
I thought that Joan Chen was amazing in both roles of Scarlet and Violet. She really looked good with the shaved head as the temptress toward the end of the movie as she enters the monastery.
Some of the scenes were a little bizarre, or took you out of it (I can't say more for fear of spoilers), but you will not be disappointed. |
