 | | | | A very well directed film by Joan Chen, dealing with life at the time that the story starts in. Based on a story by Geling Yan, it tells of a young woman's travail in her support of Communism and doing her duty for Chairman Mao Zedong. It's also a story that has a sad ending that makes the story good. A young girl who is naive to do what she can to get home by prostituting herself with certain men of some power so she can get to go home. She is being manipulated by the men that say they can help but only to help themselves. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |

 | | | | Xiu Xiu was a suprisingly good movie. It was amazingly moving and touching at times. Goes on up there with King of Masks. Okay, not really but it was still a good movie. | | LOG IN TO COMMENT ON THIS REVIEW! |
