I remember seeing parts of this movie when I was a kid on a local Chinese TV channel that played kung fu movies once a week; and as kids tend to be, I was quite impressed by it.
But now that I had a chance to re-watch it for the first time since those long years ago, I must say that the movie doesn't live up to my childhood memories. I don't mind the silly costumes or melodramatic story, but the fights are sub-par for the most part, with an occasional nice sequence here and there. Too much undercranking and sloppy editing, though, makes the fights at times quite ridiculous. That's too bad, because some of them do feature exotic weapons (the warfan or those throwing circular saw blades) that could have made for great, exciting fights.
