Owing a big debt to the films of Luis Bunuel and Pedro Almodovar, "Sitcom" has the same irreverent, sacrilegious kicks of the former and the sultry, melodramatic absurdity of the latter. There is a powerful, sinister undercurrent to the hilarious plot and the film contains bizarre fantasy, arch comedy, and a charming camp sensibility.
