The release of Celestial's remastered DVD of "THE FIVE VENOMS" is a Christmas gift I always dreamed of.

The picture is exquisite, properly letterboxed, and very clear. My friends and I have watched the Steeplechase DVD many times, but were startled by the many details that had remained hidden in their blurry transfer. Now when you see the training hall of the Venoms, you can see every one of the many cool details previously lost.

It's subtitles are disappointing though. For anyone that's seen this film before, it'll be clear that the translation of the subs are poor. But newcomers will still be able to understand the basic plot. Which, surprising for this genre, is actually well done. Despite there being less fighting than in most Chang Cheh films, what's there is fantastic.

An old school classic!
