Overview:	Junkichi is the son of a rich landlord and Koyuki the daughter of a poor lumber worker. Against his father's strong objections, "shun gut" ran away with his young love and started their life together. Sometime later, "shun gut" was called to military service. They made a pledge to each other that they will sing their song of engagement Kobikiuta every day at the same time of day. The war ended. Junkichi returned but found that Koyuki had died of TB.
