Tung Wei, in the lead, shows strong skills in a better than run-of-the-mill kung fu potboiler. I don't believe for a moment in Shaking Eagle's style, but it photographs pretty well. The appallingly hammy and unfunny Dean Shek doesn't bring this film down all that much - which is a blessing.
