Shockingly violent and controversial, this flick is everything you've heard that it is. Unrelentingly sadistic and cruel, filled with disturbing images and a haunting score. Truly terrifying.

The over-the-top violence is probably the reason why it gained such a cult status, but that's also what made the film a classic. It was very tense and indeed very, very, very disturbing and not recommended for easily offended and soft-hearted people. I can see why the director got in major trouble for making this film. Honestly, this is probably the most disturbing and gruesome first-person film, and that's what makes it a cult classic. If you're easily disgusted or offended whatsoever, skip it.

I recently reviewed "Salo". "Salo" is a very disturbing movie, but it has class with an interesting story to back it up, and a great filmmaker as well.

"Cannibal Holocaust", however, has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. The movie just tries hard to prove how uttely violent it can be. The film fails because it's just one disturbing movie without any good plot or likeable characters to back it up. I believe the film was made for people majoring in pysch, but still there is nothing entertaining in this film.

It's tasteless! So stay away.

A classic Cannibal film. This is what cannibal films are all about. Still disturbing after all these years. A must-have in the collection if you love gory horror. Be warned: real live animal killings (like that poor turtle) are gross. Every time I see that I cringe. Not for everyone though.

"Cannibal Holocaust" is one of those films that has so much urban myth surrounding it, that if you are reading this review, then you are probably going to at least try to see it. Which makes any review of the film worthless anyway.

I don't want to give this movie 4 stars. I don't want to give it any. However it is a very well made film, and clearly all involved knew their craft. Its vision was clear, and so it accomplished all it set out to do. However I should say that its hyper-realistic documentary style makes for very harrowing viewing, so be warned.

I like to think I am a connoisseur of exploitation films and to that effect have seen many dodgy and disgusting things, but this film tested me like nothing I have seen before.

If you want a really disgusting movie, this is it!

This movie took me some time to deal with. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but if you want a bloody nightmare with some interesting points, you should watch it and make your own opinion of it. After all, I can understand why some people would give this movie not one star...

Does not live up to the hype.

I would suggest "Cannibal Ferox" (aka "Make Em Die Slowly"). It's everything this film tries to be and then some.

Very good film for fans of terror. Many people have said many things about the film. The fact is: I have never seen such a film with a sense of reality. No special effects, just humans and cameras. With so little equipment the director was able to show us a movie with such reality. A "classic of terror," it can sometimes so strong in some scenes and aspects, but what is fascinating to me it is the sense of reality. It's real, very strong. Some people can consider the movie as "trash". Yes, in some aspects it is, but the director was excellent in what he was doing. That's my opinion!

This has got to be the most realistic movie I have ever watched on cannibals. Definitely some of the most memorable footage I'll ever have burned into my mind. If you ever see this, see the true uncut version with no holds and no stops!

I understand why HKFlix rated this 0 stars. I imagine a lot of people would. I rate it 3.5 stars because it pulls no punches. It's as gory as everyone tells you, but there is something going on underneath the gore - a message that is sometimes as disturbing as the horrible scenes of animal violence that I wish they'd left out.
