Picture: Presented in 2:35:1 with 16:9 enhancement. No complaints here as colours are well saturated and brightness levels are excellent - Another great restoration from Celestial not to mention that the print is over 30 years old!

Sound: Yes, another 5.1 Mandarin soundtrack, which will detract viewers with all added effects, otherwise no problems here.

Trailers: New and Original trailers for 'Vengeance'. Also 'The Heroic Ones', 'Heroes Two', 'Blood Brothers' and 'Disciples of the 36th Chamber'.

Extras: Interviews with David Chiang and Ti Lung, an excellent featurette on Chang Cheh including interviews with John Woo, Original Poster, useless Production Notes and talent files for Ti Lung, David Chiang, Wang Ping and Chang Cheh.

Celestial Shaw Brothers DVDs offer an amazing treatment to a wide and varying collection of classics. The sheer breadth of the current library is intimidating, and "Vengeance" keeps with the standards set by the rest. The picture quality is excellent, presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen. Audio comes in the form of the original Mandarin track with removable English subtitles. There are some nice extras as well, including a few interesting Chang Cheh retrospects, which feature John Woo citing his influence among others. You can also look at the original poster, color stills, production notes and biographies/filmographies of the actors and the director. Finally, preview some great trailers for four other Chang Cheh films, as well as the original and new trailer for "Vengeance".
