Director's Notes:

"Though I didn't get Kung Fu Guy completely 'in the can' until 1994, I started writing it in 1987 and started filming in 1988. Note that this was over four years before America discovered Hong Kong cinema through John Woo and, a little later, Jackie Chan. Back in 1987 it was basically impossible, save going to a Chinatown district, to see many of the '80's Hong Kong films that can now be found in most U.S. video stores. Back then I had to go to Japan-town to get my copies my newer Jackie Chan movies--"Police Story", "Wheels On Meals", and "Armour of God"--and that copy of "Police Story" was without any English at all! ('twas in Chinese with Japanese subtitles.)"
