| Overview: | A tournament of the greatest sword schools is organized in the enchanted city by an army led by a mysterious masked lord. When it is revealed that the tournament was only a failed rouse to lure the masked lord's arch enemy out of hiding (who is an aged blind and deaf crippled man with only one arm), some other participants are blackmailed by the masked lord into hunting him down. But there is more to the situation than meets the eye, as family ties are revealed and vengeance is dealt out on the razor sharp edges of cold steel.
Fatal flying swords, fantastic bladed weapons, deadly explosions, and wild mythological characters all come together with one of the most involving plots, and large cast ensembles make this film among the best early examples of what would later become the distinctive filmmaking styles of later martial arts cinema. With elaborate costumes, wirework, flying fights, and hundreds of masked swordsmen, "Mask Of Vengeance" is a rare piece of history that effectively bridges the gap between the "old school" and "new school" styles of Asian action and martial arts cinema!
