| Specially mentioned should be the fact that the Taiwan version of "Island of Fire" runns approximately 30 minutes longer than the Hong Kong version. These additional scenes give the film much more depth and tension and also help to understand some characters better.
The Hong Kong version works fine as well, but I reccomend the Taiwan Version.
The Taiwan DVD presents the film in a slightly letterbox format in Dolby Digital 5.1 altough the sound is splitted also not a real 5.1 surround sound but it's okay.
The picture quality is average at best but it's still watchable. I've seen worse.
The subs are burnt in with the usual errors in translation but are still easy to follow.
No extras on the disc for the movie, just some trailers.
If you want to see the full uncut version of "Island of Fire", then this DVD is the one to go for! |
