Plot:	Disillusioned and unsatisfied, Maria has taken to drinking. Her mother's country lifestyle couldn't be more different. But when unexpected circumstances force mom to move in with Maria, glimmers of understanding and hope for the future begin to emerge.
Overview:	Benito Zambrano's moving film about the uneasy relationship between a mother and daughter has won widespread critical acclaim and a clutch of international awards, including 5 Goyas, the Spanish Oscars. Maria, disillusioned by her experiences with men and saddled with an unsatisfying job, finds that her only solace lies in drink. Her mother leads a simple life in the country that could not be more different. But unexpected circumstances mean that Maria has to share her city apartment with her mother and, despite the gulf between the two women, glimmers of understanding and hope for the future begin to emerge. Superb performances from Ana Fernández as Maria, Maria Galiana as her mother and Carlos Álvarez Novoa as their neighbour illuminate this touching and heartfelt drama.
