After comparing this Import R3 DVD with the Paramount DVD, My old fullscreen LaserDisc, and the Paramount VHS video, there is simply no contest. the Warner Brothers Region 3 widescreen DVD is by far the best version of this classic slasher film to date. The widescreen picture is brighter than any other version allowing detail and color to be seen like never before. This UNCUT version features at least 2 shots worthy of note. Kevin Bacons "arrow through the neck" bit has an additional shot of spurting blood, as well as the ending decapitation. Also contains a 20 minute making of, which is fascinating! I will not call this "definitive" because it is possible that a future Region 1 DVD may appear with remastered picture and more extras that beat the R3 disc, but for now, throw away your Paramount R1 DVD and replace it with this fine DVD. |
