Plot:	When Emma Kusters husband goes insane one day at his job and kills his boss' son and then commits suicide, she becomes an unwitting pawn between the Left and the Right in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's scathing look at urban alienation and exploitation.
Overview:	One day a factory worker goes insane at his job and kills his boss' son. He then throws himself into the machinery and leaves behind a grieving widow, Emma Kusters. Her world is turned upside down in the aftermath when her conniving daughter movies in and tries to use the tragedy to further her own struggling career. In her dogged effort to clear her husband's name, which has been dragged through the mud as "the factory murderer", by the tabloid press. Mother Kusters becomes an unwitting pawn between the Left and Right. Rainer Werner Fassbinder's scathing look at urban alienation and exploitation is presented here with the original European ending and the more hopeful version that he shot for the U.S. release.
