This version of the film seems to be George Romero's initial preferred cut of the film, which was released unrated to U.S. theaters. Since Romero claimed to have final say in the edits of the film and held out on signing distribution deals until his preferred cut was accepted, all versions could be called his "director's cut". But there are various other versions available, running anywhere from 117 to 139 minutes. If you're a fan, you may want to check those versions out as well.
