Overview:
Slow Fade is the story of one man's journey to the edge of his troubled life and back again. Fin Tait's wife is killed in a car accident and because he blames himself, his world begins to crumble. Unable to deal with his emotions, Fin disappears from his old life and seeks out a path of reckless self-destruction. Fins journey down the spiral of drugs and life on the streets almost brings him to an end but while shooting what would be his final fix, Fin's life miraculously finds a new direction. Under the heavy blanket of a heroin overdose in an abandoned building, Fin's epiphany manifests itself in the form of a religious vision. In his delusional and hallucinogenic state, Fin misinterprets two men mugging him as a vision of God. This divine intervention, as Fin believes, is what ultimately spares his life and sends him back into society. Fin finds himself recovering in a public hospital. It is here that he meets and finds solace in Kim, a young, street-wise prostitute. Brought together by circumstance, Kim and Fin form a close friendship... Slow Fade is a new breed of film-making that transcends international boundaries. The film's strong visual and audio dynamics explode into a film that an international audience can identify with. It is the first film in Asia ever to employ the most modern in visual and audio effects, such as the so-called ‘cross-processing' technique in which positive film is developed as negative.
