DVD Specs:
Synapse Films R1
Anamorphic Widescreen
Languages: Japanese Dolby Digital stereo
Subtitles: English
Extras: Trailer, Liner notes by Patrick Macias
Transfer:
I was surprised that Synapse went the extra mile to include what they call a "new anamorphic transfer." I'm not sure if it's as new as they claim, but it certainly looks very good. The film was shot digitally, and it shows, but the transfer doesn't show a lot of defects that usually come with digital films. A job well done by Synapse. Let's hope they can give us a nice transfer for their upcoming WILD ZERO release.
Sound:
The sound is good enough. It's stereo and pretty clear. Everything sounds good, so I have no complaints in this department.
Extras:
The film's theatrical trailer, and that is it. The trailer is interesting because it plays the film off as a love story. Other than that, the nsert comes with Patrick Macias' liner notes/review. It appeared that Patrick liked the film. What was he smoking? I want to give special attention to the DVD's main menu...it's absolutey hideous. |
