| This early Sammo Hung actioneer is for the most part a fairly sweet comedy with some action thrown in. Until the last twenty minutes that is. Then in true HK fashion it becomes a pretty violent action fest with plenty of blood.
Two down-at-heel petty crooks, nicknamed Rice Barrel (Sammo Hung) and Chimney (Frankie Chan), are students of the Fagin-esque Master Kim. It's fun and interesting to watch the many ways that are used to distract the target person, so he can be robbed.
When the pair become involved in the matter of some stolen diamonds, they find themselves trapped between a local gang boss and the police. With nowhere to run, Rice Barrel and Chimney must use their wits and physical skills to survive, eventually leading to a bloody finale on a ship.
This is a charming film, with Sammo in top form. He also displays his extensive acting talents, and even does a hilarious dancing routine!
Richard Ng is the hapless cop who is always trying to arrest Sammo.
