I have watched this film many times and it is still one of the most entertaining kung fu films I have ever seen. Basically, the story is about a drunken shaolin monk (Yuen Cheung Yan) who has to capture a kung fu fighting "monster" who has escaped from the temple. On his way he meets and teams up with Yuen Yat Choh, who is looking to find a wife. The action scenes, choreographed by Yuen Woo Ping, are excellent and imagnitive. There are plenty of comedy moments in the film and some weird ones, for example, there's a fight scene involving a giant poisonous frog. Overall, this is a really good, underrated film. Buy it.

I give this one mad props! Where do I begin? Let's see, the funniest drunkard in movie history, blood drinking villian with boar tusk-like fangs. and fights with 9 rings. Can never forget that the dude (villian) plays a weird warped flute thing which summons a giant poisonous toad that has a long striking tongue, acidic spit, and he knows how to throw dem bows.er..knees..legs.whatever.

Another rival of the drunkard's protege fights with his hands on fire and at one point controls a giant wooden marionette with tree trunk like arms and legs!

Grandma's hillarious as well.

I'd give it all 5 stars [out of 5] if it woulda' ended 15 min. earlier at the cave...the last fight was cool n all, but that woulda' been a classical ending.
