PRODUCTION NOTES:
All the Korean record-books will have to be rewritten. The blockbuster that took four years, cost over 10 Million US$ and required thousands of people to complete. Motorcycles, jeeps, tanks and even helicopters... Switchblades, sabers, guns, automatic rifles and even bazookas... Hoodlums, gangs, policemen and even special operations forces...Gunfights in the city center, underwater scenes, helicopter scenes, and even 100% computer graphic scenes...120 onsite production staff, Hong Kong’s greatest martial arts choreographer, and almost 10,000 extras ...
“Resurrection of the Little Match Girl” is the first Korean movie that assembles all of these elements to create an exciting blockbuster worthy of the description.
Was the making of a miracle? Mission impossible ? but the production must go on! Helicopters swirling low over a power plant, city center photography that required 30 bus lines to be rerouted, shootout scenes taking place in subways and residential neighborhoods, bungee jumping from a span across the ocean, the filming of “Resurrection of the Little Match Girl” itself was a “mission impossible.” To accomplish this impossible task, the city of Busan assisted the production with massive support from all of the police and firefighting precincts in its 16 districts. The production company rented 20 apartments for over a year to house the production staff onsite. In the end, impossible became possible and “Resurrection of the Little Match Girl” came to life. |
