Plot:	Adapted from the famous novel of the same name by Xu Su, the title of this two-part romance epic refers to the three female lead characters in the story: the brave and radiant "Sun", the solemn and pure "Moon", and the lonely and fragile "Star".
Overview:	Adapted from the famous and popular novel of the same name by Xu Su, this two-part romance epic stands as one of the best films produced by the Dianmou/Cathay Film Studio in the sixties. The title refers to the three female lead characters in the story, but almost best describes the luminous images of the three actresses: Julie Yeh Feng as the brave and radiant "Sun", Grace Chang (Ge Lan) as the solemn and pure "Moon", and Lucilla You Min as the lonely and fragile "Star". Filmed at a budget of over HK$700,000 (the cost of at least five Mandarin films or fourteen Cantonese films put together at the time) and spanning a shooting period of more than ten months, "Sun, Moon And Star" still looks magnificent and irresistibly romantic after more than four decades.
