| The film deserves to look better than it does but it's a good alternative for now. The print has only minor damage and colurs are good during the flashback scenes. Overall though, Deltamac's transfer, framed at 1.68:1 approximately, suffers from high contrast which reveals grain and artifacts during dark scenes in particular.
The Cantonese 2.0 Dolby Digital track sounds a little harsh but it's expected for a film now getting on in years. Elements are mixed well and I prefer Deltamac's mono tracks over a remix. A Mandarin 2.0 dub is also included.
The English subtitles, sometimes featuring rather abstract and complex dialogue, do a very good job in terms of structure and grammar. Traditional and simplified Chinese subtitles are also included. Only extra is the trailer for the film. |
