ALTERNATE SYNOPSIS:
Grapes of Death is one of cult director Jean Rollin's most explicitly violent and gory films and is released here fully uncut in all its blood-drenched glory. Its story centers on a young woman who finds herself stranded in a remote village where a dangerous pesticide has contaminated the surrounding vineyards, transforming the locals into crazed zombies intent on slaughtering anyone who gets in their way.

In a rare departure from his usual vampire films, Rollin here tackles the zombie/gore genre and manages to mix scenes that are reminiscent of Romero's Night of the Living Dead with startling oneiric images of gothic sexuality and blood drenched gore. This film really is a must both for lovers of Jean Rollin and gory zombie titles.
